La Rougetière is not the most photogenic of the Domaine’s plots. Located at the entrance to the village of Cabrières, its main asset is a predominantly clay soil at an altitude of almost 400 m. This ensures that the Chardonnays ripen slowly, perfectly complementing the earlier, more powerful wines from Pertuis.
La conjugaison de deux parcelles très différentes, donnant des personnalités opposées du Chardonnay : opulent, gras et riche à Pertuis; vif, citronné et frais en altitude à Cabrières. L’assemblage des vins qui en sont issus donne une image du cépage à mille lieux de certains homologues sudistes, privilégiant ici l’équilibre général plutôt que l’intensité et la puissance.
